Facebook me
Okay, so I'm a dinosaur, let's get that on the table right now. I'm in the 50+ plus group on the surveys now and I completely understand the need for naps in the afternoon.
But I'm also a learner. I listen and pick up trends that way. It used to be in a group like the one today at the Nonprofit Summit, you'd see business cards being exchanged and the conversation ended with "Call me." Technology has now intervened and URL's and email addresses are traded with the admonition to "Email me."
But recently I've been hearing something new. "Facebook me." As long as you know someone's name you can search for them on Facebook. (Of course you need to have your own facebook page to really communicate and be "friends"). Not only will you find their contact info - that's just the beginning.
You can read about their favorite movies, vacation plans, dreams and achievements. Write on their "Wall", leave them a message. Join a group together, set up an event.
This is truly an amazing place to connect. Facebook me!
