Snow is a Four Letter Word

I heard it. I saw it on the forecast. Snow.

Yes, I know it's late October and it's really not all that unusual to see snow flakes. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. I only last weekend gave in and put the sandals away and got out the flannels.

The first snow of the season. It will probably look pretty covering the leaves that are still on the trees. They leaves haven't given up yet so why should I!

This will be the first winter where I will be working from my home office where I can look out the window next to my computer and watch the change of seasons. The trees have been spectacular! But watching the snow will be a different story. It will silently fill the crevices of the roof lines; catch on the window ledges; and turn the lawn full of frozen weeds and grass into an opportunity for snow angels. Sounds wonderful doesn't it? Sure, as long as I'm inside toasty and warm and not trying to drive anywhere in it.

Of course I could be living in LA. Our son tells us it's a little weird to be driving on the 405 and have helicopters dropping water on the fire lit mountain right along side. At least snow melts.
