Obama
How can you not be moved?
I don't normally write about politics or discuss my leanings. But these are not normal times - for so many reasons. The world changes on 9/11, the rules changed too. We've come to the realization that global is not just a buzz word, it's reality.
What we do affects others - every day. What others do affects us. With the power of the internet reaction, response and sometimes revenge can happen in an instant.
Our economic challenges are the world's. We cannot ignore other countries and cultures, cannot stamp our feet and say it must be our way, cannot refuse to talk to our neighbors - here and abroad.
Barack Obama is a thinker, a compassionate man and a futurist. He is also a listener, a healer and a mediator. He is what this country needs right now.
I've heard him compared to JFK and I must admit I remember the day JFK died but not a lot more about him so I don't know if the comparison is valid. From what I've heard and read, JFK was able to reach out to a wide group of people, gather smart people around him and even with self doubts made decisions that moved this country forward. I believe those attributes apply to Barack Obama and we are ready for another "Kennedy era."
Watching the 30 minute ad tonight I was amazed. You are not human if you were not moved by the stories that were told. Yes, I know it was dramatically produced with music and footage that propelled the story along, but it hit home.
I want my children to be able to keep going after their dreams. I want to keep going after mine. Barack Obama will lead the way.
