Liar, liar, pants on fire

Please, please make it stop, Last night I thought I'd actually sit down and watch some of the new shows on TV this season (and check in on Dancing with the Stars - can you believe Jerry Springer is still one of the contenders?) My evening was ruined by the thousands (okay maybe not really) of awful, nasty, slam political ads that innundated every commercial break! Aaarrrrrgghhh!

I'm Joe Schmo and I approve this message." Well they should be ashamed of themselves. Why on earth would I want to vote for anyone who behaves this way? Their mothers must be cringing. What happened to, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Maybe that should be the litmus test to determine what gets on the air!

Now, I'm a reader. I read the newspaper, look at supposed non-partisan websites and blogs, have interesting discussion with friends. I want to make an intelligent choice when I go into that voting booth and start clicking on the screen. But I know that most people don't do that kind of research. They believe what they hear and see on the screen. Boy is that scarey.
