What a Tangled Web we code
This is the web intern. As Carole says, he bearly does any work and keeps drinking her Dunkin Donuts Coolatta every time she's not looking!Carole and Flinn talk in tongues - geek speak. They could be making it all up and we'd never know. They stare at screens full of strange symbols and letters searching that one (*&$(*&#(_@*& one that is messing up the site. It could get pretty funny as the night goes on!

And speaking of funny - what on earth is Doug doing?
Nine O'Clock and all's well
This is Doug. Doug just loves to torture us from the loft where he hangs out. But never fear - Amy and Lauren have loaded up their water pistols and are hitting their mark!So far tonight Doug has created the design for the Women in Construction site, the Wilkes brochure and the Keystone Greyhound poster. Such a busy boy!
We've had tons of visitors and we thank the Times Leader and WBRE for stopping by and helping promote the CreateAthon and the nonprofits we're working for.
Okay, back to work!

So many projects, so little time

It's awfully quiet here at the moment. Everyone is concentrating, coding and copywriting. We've landed on a theme for the Symphony Hall campaign and had a visit from one of our local newspapers.
Seems everyone is moving right along except me. I try to concentrate on the 6th Street Shelter Fundraising campaign, but then I get sidetracked by a phone call from a client, an IM from my kid and someone squirting me with a water pistol from the loft! Geez!
(This is Lauren proofing copy)
The 6th Street Shelter is a compelling story. It's a place of rest and refuge for families with no home to call their own and no other option. It's a place where families can stay together and have some sense of "normalcy" as they work through a tough time in their lives.

So, no more whining. I'm getting back to work!
A Slice and a slice
This year's CreateAThon will be remembered for its inauspicious start - Beth slicing her hand open with an exacto knife. Two hours and 5 stitches later she's back and ready to roll!So we rearranged our schedule - got the tagline for Wilkes Alternate Spring Break done and the websites for Maureen's Mission and Women in Construction started.
Now it's lunchtime! Time for a slice of pizza courtesy of Symphony Hall in Allentown. (No sharp knives for Beth!)
More later.....

And So It Begins. CreateAThon 2006

It was a dark and stormy morning.... Okay it is dark outside and it is drizzling.... We are about to embark on our fifth annual CreateAThon, a 24 hour work session to create 14 projects for 6 non-profits in our area. That's right, we're going to pull an all-nighter and by tomorrow morning we will have created two websites, three brochures, a capital campaign, two logos and tag lines, a marketing campaign, two billboards and two PSA's.
It's a way for us to say thanks to the community and give the nonprofits some much needed and much appreciated marketing tools. We received 40 applications this year. The groups we chose are Keystone Greyhounds, a dog rescue group; Wilkes University Alternate Spring Break, a group of students who volunteer rather than party over spring break; Symphony Hall, a beautiful performing arts center in Allentown; Maureen's Mission, one man honoring the life of his wife by spreading the word about cancer; 6th Street Shelter, a home for homeless families in Allentown, and the New Orleans Chapter of Women In Construction. (Every agency involved in CreateAThon across the county today has adopted a nonprofit in New Orleans.)
I'll be posting updates throughout the 24 hours with photos of our work in progress. You can also check out the CreateAThon link on our website home page. Let me know your thoughts.
On to the next!
Catherine
